This week, we organised a dedicated training session aimed at acquainting some of our RFLI colleagues, who work on the Elizabeth Line, with the LV/HV electrical isolation field jobs and tasks carried out behind the scenes by their 3ECO specialist colleagues. These tasks are essential for ensuring a seamless train ride for fare-paying passengers.

During the session, key members of the Elizabeth Line operational staff, such as Traffic Managers (TM2), Electrical Control Operators (ECO), Service & Infrastructure Managers (SIM), and Incident Response Managers (IRM), were given the opportunity to safely engage with Substation Switchgear, Tracks and OHLE switches which collectively emulate the existing real Elizabeth Line infrastructure, at the Tunnelling and Underground Construction Academy training centre (TUCA), in Ilford, East London.

“By embracing hands-on experience, individuals delve deep into the challenges faced by their colleagues daily on the railway, igniting empathy and unity as they embark on a collective pursuit of excellence.”

Frederic Sancho – 3ECO Finance & Marketing Director

Understanding the nature of a colleague’ job is invaluable. Walking in their shoes, even through safe simulations, is a humbling experience. It provides valuable perspective and fosters a holistic approach among teams, ensuring that everyone understands each other’s tasks and works together effectively to ensure the railway operates at its best every day of the year.

“We are deeply appreciative of the trust bestowed upon 3ECO by RFLI, empowering us to kickstart this exciting familiarisation process for their personnel. The response thus far has been overwhelmingly positive.”

Chris Denton – 3ECO Electrical Operations Director / HV/LV Authorising Engineer
